Durbin Creek Enterprises LLC, doing business as DCE Junk Removal ("we," "us," or "our"), operates this website and provides junk removal and hauling services in the South Carolina Upstate. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it.

We are a small, family-run business. We collect what we need to quote your job, show up at the right address, do the work, and get paid. We do not sell your information to anyone.

Information you give us

When you request a quote, book a job, or contact us, we may collect:

  • Your name

  • The service address and, if different, your mailing address

  • Your phone number and email address

  • A description of the items to be removed, including any photos you choose to send us

  • Access details you provide, such as gate codes, parking instructions, or where to find the items

  • Notes about scheduling and any special instructions

If you buy from our resale listings or our published books, we may also receive order and shipping information from the marketplace you purchased through.

Information we collect automatically

This website is built and hosted on Wix. Wix places cookies and similar technologies on your device to keep the site working, remember your preferences, and give us basic visitor statistics. Through those tools we may see:

  • Your IP address and general location, such as the city or region

  • Your browser and device type

  • Which pages you visited, when, and how you reached our site

This information is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally. You can control or block cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site may not work correctly if you do.

Payment information

We take payment through Square. When you pay us, your card or bank details go directly to Square and are processed under Square's own security standards and privacy policy. We do not see, handle, or store your full card number. What we keep is the record of the transaction: the amount, the date, and the last four digits of the card.

Text messages

If you give us your mobile number, we may text you about your quote, your appointment time, our arrival window, or a question that comes up on the job. These are service messages about work you asked us to do.

We do not send marketing texts unless you separately agree to receive them. Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts from us. Standard message and data rates from your carrier may apply.

Photos of job sites

We often take photos before and after a job. We use them to document the condition of the property, to settle any question about what was removed, and to train our crew.

We may also use job photos in advertising, on our website, or on social media. When we do, we exclude house numbers, street signs, vehicle license plates, mail, documents, and anything else that would identify you or your address. If you would rather we not use photos from your job in any advertising at all, tell us and we will honor that — before, during, or after the job.

Items we remove

Junk removal sometimes turns up personal belongings, mail, financial records, photographs, or documents that were not meant to leave your possession. Please go through everything before we arrive and set aside anything you want to keep.

If our crew finds documents that appear to contain personal or financial information, we will set them aside and contact you rather than haul them away. We do not read, copy, keep, or share the contents of anything we remove.

Usable household goods from our jobs are donated to non-profit organizations. We do not pass along any information about who donated an item or where it came from.

How we use your information

We use what we collect to:

  • Prepare and send you an estimate

  • Schedule the job and reach you about the appointment

  • Perform the work at the correct address

  • Invoice you and process your payment

  • Answer your questions and follow up after the job

  • Keep the business records we are required to keep for tax and accounting purposes

  • Send you occasional updates or offers, if you have asked to receive them

Who we share it with

We share information only with the companies and people who help us run the business, and only with what they need:

  • Wix, which hosts our website and handles our contact forms

  • Square, which processes payments and issues invoices

  • Google, for our business email and calendar

  • Our own crew members, who need the address, contact number, and job details to do the work

  • Landfills, transfer stations, and recycling facilities, which may require the origin address of a load

  • Our accountant, bookkeeper, or attorney, when a business need requires it

  • Insurers, if there is a claim involving your property

We will also disclose information if the law requires it, if we receive a valid subpoena or court order, or if it is necessary to protect our rights, our crew's safety, or someone else's safety.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising.

How long we keep it

We keep job records, invoices, and payment records for seven years, which is what our tax and accounting obligations require. Quote requests that never became jobs are kept for one year. Job photos are kept for three years unless you ask us to delete them sooner.

Your choices

You can, at any time:

  • Ask us what information we have about you

  • Ask us to correct anything that is wrong

  • Ask us to delete your information, except records we are legally required to keep

  • Ask us not to use photos from your job in any advertising

  • Unsubscribe from marketing email using the link in any message we send

  • Reply STOP to any text message to stop receiving texts

Contact us using the information at the bottom of this page and we will respond within thirty days.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under your state's privacy laws. We honor those requests regardless of whether we are legally required to.

Security

We protect your information with password-protected accounts, two-factor authentication where it is available, and by limiting access to the people who need it. Our website uses SSL encryption, and payment data is handled by Square rather than by us.

No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee against every possible breach. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by South Carolina law.

Children

Our services and this website are meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Links to other sites

Our website may link to other websites, including our marketplace listings and social media pages. We are not responsible for how those sites handle your information. Read their privacy policies before providing information to them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our business changes. When we do, we will post the new version here and update the effective date at the top. Material changes will be noted on the page.
